British Emabassy Entry Vacancy

The British Embassy works with other partners in various sectors such as education, environment, interfaith issues, economic governance, etc. Our policy goals are represented through a number of projects in Indonesia.

The British Consulate General needs to recruit a full-time Visa Assistant (LE3 grade).
LE3 ENTRY CLEARANCE ASSISTANT
Requirements:

  • Excellent spoken and written English ( IELTS level 6.5 or equivalent).
  • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesian.
  • Typing speed at least 30 WPM.
  • Expertise in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and databases
  • Experience in office administration and accounts is essential.
  • Experience in producing written reports in fluent and concise English.
  • Can show evidence of initiative and problem-solving.


You will need to be adaptable, accurate, motivated and a proven team-worker. The successful candidate will be required to start as soon as possible, from the end of July 2010.  The position is offered for an initial 12 months, with the possibility of renewal. Those shortlisted for interview will be tested.  If you do not meet the criteria above you will not be considered.

British Embassy Assitant Vacancy

If so, the British Embassy is looking for a Political Assistant to make contacts and appointments for the Ambassador, the Deputy Head of Mission and all members of the Political Team.  The job-holder will be responsible for maintaining key Embassy databases and setting up an alumni group for our prestigious Chevening scholars.  The successful candidate will report to a member of the Embassy’s Political Team, but will also work with senior colleagues across the Embassy as well as colleagues in London and other posts.


POLITICAL ASSISTANT
Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setting up appointments across the Political Team, for the Ambassador and for the Deputy Head of Mission.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key political Embassy stakeholders.
  • Establishing an alumni database for former Chevening scholars and fellows; organising events at the Ambassador’s Residence and elsewhere.
  • Maintaining the Embassy political database.


Skills Required:

  • Strong organisational, analytical, financial and time management skills, with very good attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus
  • Ability to work with contacts and colleagues at all levels
  • Personal drive and the ability to be a self-starter as well as a team player
  • Flexible, resilient under pressure and decisive with a proven track record of delivering results to a high standard within tight deadlines
  • Good command in English (min IELTS score 8.0 or equivalent) and Bahasa Indonesia.


Minimum Qualifications :

  • Working experience in an administrative or organisational role;
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia, orally and in writing, required;
  • Strong IT computer skills using Microsoft Office, Oracle systems and databases.

The successful candidate is expected to commence employment in June 2010, initially on a 12-month contract. He/she will be subject to confirmation of a background and security clearance.  You must have pre-existing work authorisation for Indonesia in order to apply.
