POLITICAL ASSISTANT
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Setting up appointments across the Political Team, for the Ambassador and for the Deputy Head of Mission.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key political Embassy stakeholders.
- Establishing an alumni database for former Chevening scholars and fellows; organising events at the Ambassador’s Residence and elsewhere.
- Maintaining the Embassy political database.
Skills Required:
- Strong organisational, analytical, financial and time management skills, with very good attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus
- Ability to work with contacts and colleagues at all levels
- Personal drive and the ability to be a self-starter as well as a team player
- Flexible, resilient under pressure and decisive with a proven track record of delivering results to a high standard within tight deadlines
- Good command in English (min IELTS score 8.0 or equivalent) and Bahasa Indonesia.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Working experience in an administrative or organisational role;
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia, orally and in writing, required;
- Strong IT computer skills using Microsoft Office, Oracle systems and databases.
The successful candidate is expected to commence employment in June 2010, initially on a 12-month contract. He/she will be subject to confirmation of a background and security clearance. You must have pre-existing work authorisation for Indonesia in order to apply.
